Safety and Tolerability of High-Dose Budesonide/Formoterol via Turbuhaler(R) in Japanese Patients with Asthma: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Crossover, Active Comparator-Controlled, Phase III Study. [2012.01.01]
Background: The use of budesonide/formoterol as both maintenance and reliever therapy in asthma is recommended in many countries; however, there are limited data available for the Asian patient population. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the short-term safety and tolerability of a fixed high-dose combination of the inhaled corticosteroid budesonide and the long-acting beta(2)-adrenoceptor agonist formoterol with that of the beta(2)-agonist terbutaline for acute symptom relief in Japanese adults with persistent asthma who were already receiving a combination of budesonide/formoterol maintenance therapy...

Clinical Trials Related to Rhinocort (Budesonide)

Assess the Efficacy and Safety of Rhinocort Aqua [Completed]
The purpose of this study is to compare Rhinocort with placebo in pediatric subjects aged 2-5 years with allergic rhinitis to study effects on nasal symptoms such as sneezing, runny and stuffy noses.

Rhinocort Aqua Versus Placebo and Fluticasone Propionate [Completed]
The purpose of this study is to compare once daily treatment with Rhinocort against placebo and Fluticasone Propionate at reliving the nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.

Budesonide in Treating Patients With Lung Nodules at High Risk of Developing Lung Cancer [Completed]
RATIONALE: Chemoprevention is the use of certain drugs to keep cancer from forming, growing, or coming back. The use of budesonide may keep lung cancer from forming in patients with lung nodules. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well inhalation budesonide works in treating patients with lung nodules who are at high risk of lung cancer.

Acute Airway Vascular Smooth Muscle Effects of Inhaled Budesonide [Completed]
Glucocorticosteroids recently have been shown to have non-genomic actions that are plasma membrane-mediated and do not require gene transcription and translation. One of these non-genomic effects is the inhibition of adrenergic agonist transport into airway vascular smooth muscle cells with an increase of adrenergic agonist concentrations at adrenergic receptor sites and enhance the physiological effects of endogenous adrenergic agonists (e. g. locally released norepinephrine from noradrenergic neurons) or exogenous adrenergic agonists (e. g. inhaled beta-adrenergic agonists).

Compare CE-Budesonide Nasal Solution & Rhinocort Aqua in an EEC Study of AR [Completed]
The primary objective of this study was to compare the relative efficacy of Budesonide administered via Captisol-Enabled Budesonide nasal solution and Rhinocort Aqua in patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) exposed to controlled ragweed pollen using an EEC model.
