Effectiveness:   Moderately Effective
Side effects:   Moderate Side Effects

Treatment Info
Condition / reason:   High blood pressure
Dosage & duration:   80 mg taken daily for the period of 5 years
Other conditions:   menopause
Other drugs taken:   premarin progesterone

Reported Results
Benefits:   The drug Micardis did seem to alleviate my high blood pressure to some degree though definitely not entirely. My blood pressure is still higher than I or my doctor would like it to be. At the moment it averages about 140 over 90 but it was 180 over 110. Therefore I would say it was somewhat efficacious. It also alleviated some headaches that I assume were blood pressure related.
Side effects:   I find when I am taking Micardis that I tend to be very tired and my libido is decreased.
Comments:   I take Micardis in pill form once daily.
