Reported Results
Benefits:   While taking this method of birth control, my period only came once every three months. It was much lighter than before and only lasted 3 days instead of 6, which was normal before. I didn't experience any bloating. It's a very cost-effective method compared to three-month supply of normal 28 day cycle pills.
Side effects:   I noticed a slight weight gain (about 2 pounds) and still had issues with breakouts on my face prior to starting my period. There was also breakthrough bleeding, although very slight, at the times when my period would normally hit.
Comments:   It's very easy to take one pill per day and only have one "off" week in three months.

Reported Results
Benefits:   Full control of my periods and on this medicine I have only four periods per year. There's occasional spooting, but I LOVE not having monthly periods.
Side effects:   occ spotting and tendency to develop melasma, which are pigmented areas on the face, exacerbated by sun exposure. These are easily covered with make up or Retin A or other meds can fade them. Most women don't get these.
Comments:   You take like birth control pills except that you're taking the med for three months before stopping for a period.

Effectiveness:   Highly Effective
Side effects:   No Side Effects

Treatment Info
Condition / reason:   irregular cycles
Dosage & duration:   1 pill per day taken once per day for the period of ~1.5 years
Other conditions:   Raynaud's
Other drugs taken:   none

Reported Results
Benefits:   No irregular cycles right now, very little cramping or other PMS symptoms.
Side effects:   Cannot take a birth control pill for more than ~24 months without side effects arising (i.e. mood swings, bowel change, spotting which was not present when I first started the medication, etc.) Seasonale is just the next medication to take until I can save enough money and/or convince my insurance company to pay for a hysterectomy. I have been on birth control for 12 years to control irregular cycles (imagine 50 day cycle followed by 15 day cycle) and intense PMS symptoms. I have recently developed Raynaud's and am increasingly worried about my fibrinogen levels due to birth control (specifically contraceptives containing estrogen such as Seasonale and every other birth control pill I've ever been on). I should also mention, I eat well at least 85% of the time (fast food/greasy take-out maybe once every other week) and exercise (combo of yoga, pilates, cardio, weightlifting) at least three days a week.
Comments:   Pill once a day at the same time every day avoiding grapefruit juice for at least 4 hours before and after dosing.

Side effects:   I really didn't have any side effects other than no getting my period.
Comments:   1 pill per day for 90 days then 7 days of placebo

Reported Results
Benefits:   The benefits of Seasonale is that you only have your period once every three months.
Side effects:   In my situation, I continually have spot bleeding towards the end of every 30 day cycle which should not occur. My doctor advised that this would lessen the longer I stay on this medication however, it only improved slighty and I never can make it through the entire 90 days, my period always starts a few days before I've finished the last few pills.
Comments:   You take one pill every day for 90 days, wait 7 days, and then begin the cycle again.
